Can’t get open Netflix through my chrome cast via voice command using my google nest

So I recently bought a chrome cast and projector which work great. My problem is my most recent purchase which is a google home nest audio. I have set it up on my google home app and can listen to music via Spotify using voice commands however, if I try and open Netflix using a voice command I keep getting the response

‘Got it here’s [x] on Netflix on [x]s TV’

‘Sorry I can’t play Netflix on android TV yet, try using your android TV remote instead.’

I am am unsure why this is happening considering I have a projector and not an android tv. The projector does not even have a wifi option let alone a Netflix option. The only way I can watch Netflix is through the chrome cast.

Also the speaker provided with my new bought projector makes Harry Potter sound like he’s talking through a cup phone. I have been trying to make the display audio come through my google nest audio but with no success.

Any help or possible solutions to either of these problems would be much appreciated.

Hey Evanm,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let me help you out.

Give these steps a try:

  • Uninstall and reinstall your Google Home and Netflix app.
  • Unlink and relink your Netflix account from your Google Home app.
  • Reboot your Chromecast, projector, Google Nest Audio and router to refresh the connection.

Also, when casting from your Nest Audio to your Chromecast, we don't have a way to split the audio and video.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Alex
