Google Home Mini not running routines

Hey there! Up until about 2 weeks ago my home routines are no longer running on my google home mini. I have tried disabling and then enabling the routine, un plug and plug back in, asking the routine to start via voice or through the app, and reset the mini. Nothing is working however. The mini is still listening to me and answering me for anything other than my routines and I do not know how to fix it

You don't have any other Google speaker to test out the automations?

Or you could use:

1. The Google Assistant on an Android phone

2. The Assistant app on an Android phone 

3. The Assistant tile in the Google Home app 

 

**bleep** if only I had an android but everything I own is Apple.

First, ensure that the device is connected to the internet and linked to the correct Google account. Open the Google Home app and check if the routines are properly set up and activated. Also, verify that the trigger phrase or scheduled time for the routine is correct. Sometimes, outdated firmware or a recent update can disrupt routine functionality of Noob win—restarting the device or updating the app might help. If the problem persists, try deleting and recreating the routine. For more persistent issues, a factory reset may be required to restore proper functionality.

Hey! Thanks for sharing—sounds like you’ve already done all the right troubleshooting steps. It’s great that your Mini is still responsive otherwise! Since routines specifically are the issue, it might be worth checking if there’s been a recent app update or bug affecting them. You could also try setting up a completely new routine to see if that triggers things back to normal. Hopefully, it’s just a temporary glitch and gets sorted out soon!

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately I did both of those as well and it still won’t start the routine.
