Google Home app poor replacement for Nest app

I have 9 Nest cameras and have just added a new Google 2nd generation camera and I'm appalled to find out that I can only view this camera on the Google Home App. I wouldn't mind but there are 2 major issues with the Google Home App (apart from it being hugely inferior to the Nest App in general):-

1  It seems I cannot (and Google Support have confirmed this) view my camera feeds on my Windows laptop in the same way as I can do with Nest. This functionality is essential as I am using my cameras for security and need to have a large display on a big screen

2 There is no history available on Google Home in the same way as there is on Nest

So if I migrate all my cameras on to Google Home App I will be taking a major backward step. How can Google justify this???

Right now, we cannot "migrate" our older cameras to the Google Home app; we get just limited functionality. Google Nest has just announced updates to the Google Home app; I don't know if that includes moving full Google Nest app functionality for our older cameras into the Google Home app.  I think we'll have to wait and see.

Hi Janthadeus, yes please can you provide answers to the following:-

1. Will Google Home provide a web browser so that I can see all my old and new cameras on my Windows laptop?
2. Will Google Home provide history on my old cameras given that I have paid a subscription to do so?

The video history for 1st gen Nest cameras can only be viewed in the Nest app, but not in the Home app. It’s only good for camera live video.
