Can the Google Nest Thermostat that I got from my utility provider be setup for heat only?

Hello SF65,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

The Nest Thermostats are programmed to control both heating and cooling. Like a regular thermostat, you can use it as a conventional type of system, like a boiler for a heat-only system. But this setup will most likely receive a little less power, so the thermostat will have power issues.

It's best to have a common wire installed or a Nest Power Connector to provide the additional power it needs. Please take a look at this article and let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Mark
