Google minis stopped controlling 2 Wemo smart plugs or newly installed TAPO P125M wifi smart plugs

Had 2 WEMO wi-fi smart plugs under Google Home control, each controlling a separate Master Bedroom lamp. They were named One and Two. They responded to voice commands and automated routine actions.   Approximately a month ago, the Google Minis began responding with "I don't understand" when asked to turn on the lamps.  They would turn OFF the lamps, but wouldn't turn them ON.

I replaced both WEMO plugs with TAPO P125M mini smart wi-fi plugs. I also named them One and Two, then synced them with Google Assistant.  I can control them via the TAPO App and by tasking the Hub Max, but when I give a voice command "Hey Google, TURN ON on One or TURN ON Two, the Google Mini responds with "Sorry, I Don't Understand."  However, If the lights are already ON, the Mini will turn the lights Off.

In addition to not turning the lights on via the Google Mini, the automated routine I have setup for bedtime will change statse of all switches, plugs and lights, except these 2 TAPO plugs.  I have to command Google Mini to Turn Off each light outside the automated routine.

What's up?  What changed?

"One" and "Two" are not great names for devices.

I could understand WeMo devices not working as WeMo stopped supporting their devices years ago. But my original WeMo (large plugs) still work with Google.

But if they've worked before the Reconnecting the manufacturer's app to Google may help.
