Hub and Speakers

Aleigh26

I actually have 2 queries.  We have just purchased the Google doorbell and have it installed and up and running. However, the first problem I have is that I can't get it to link properly to my Google hub.   The hub does announce when someone rings the bell but I have to ask the hub to show me who's at the door.  I would really like the person to appear automatically when the bell is pressed.

The second problem I have is that when the doorbell is pressed it announces not only to the Google hub, but also each speaker.  The whole street knows when someone presses our doorbell!  How do I get the doorbell to connect to the hub only.

Hey Aleigh26,

Thanks for reaching out.

When someone rings the bell, it will only notify you but you really need to ask your Google Nest Hub so that you can view who's on the door. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take is as feedback.

As for the notification you can try these to your other speakers so that they will not announce when someone rings your doorbell:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. In Home View> tap the device card on a speaker or display to set Do not disturb for.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings> Notifications and digital wellbeing
  4. Tap the slider on On or off Off for Do not disturb.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Alex
