Issue with Google home automation

Or100cohen

I am trying to make an automation to play music with galaxy S25+ and Google home automation and YouTube primuim.

But it does not work.

No error. No nothing.

Using Gemnai it's working well and I am able to play music.

Just from "automaton" it does not work

OK so now I have discovered that if I am using my second Google account this is working well. And I am able to use automations with playing music. What could be the issue?

Hi @Or100cohen,

Thank you for contacting the Google Nest community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems creating an automation with YouTube Premium on your Samsung Galaxy S25+, but there's no need to worry; I'm happy to help you right now.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  1. Do you have a music provider configured in the Google Home app?
  2. What was the voice command you used to play the desired audio content?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Gabriela

Yes I have youtube configured as my music provider.

I also tried to configure it using Spotify just to make sure this is not the issue.

The funny thing, that using voice command it is working well and I am able to to get the phone to activate songs.

The issue comes up *only* from automations in the home app.

OK, I have found out a workaround to make it work.

You need to switch from Gemini to home assistant.

Then it will work perfectly.

I guess it's a bug or something.

@GabrielaG how can we proceed to open a bug ticket about it?
