Kami cameras stream not viewable in Google home app

I have several Kami / Yi cameras connected to my google home app. The streams were viewable yesterday but now I get an error saying the video stream is not viewable and I have to use chromecast or a smart display. What happened and why did the ability to view the streams go away?

A few questions: were there any changes before the issue started? What phone are you using? What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Ensure that your Google Home app is up-to-date and try to clear its cache. It might also help if you uninstall and reinstall the app. Visit this link for additional steps if the issue persists.
