We have a NEST thermostat for a system that is connected to propane through a heat pump. The NEST thermostat does not allow us access to emergency heat. Our service provider says that we need to get a different thermostat because some of the NEST thermostats do not offer that option. I believe ours is a 2017 or 2018 model.
Any advice on how we can get to emergency heat through a Nest thermostat rather than having to buy a new thermostat.

Same issue here. Anyone knows how to do it?

Hello there,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd be happy to take a look into this.
Could you share a photo of your current thermostat's wiring? Also, is this a first time installation?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark
