Nest Camera (battery) Outdoor charging port cover

Surprised and disappointed there is no silicon cap cover to protect the charging port of this OUTDOOR camera.  Leaves the whole system open to corrosion especially in the salt air.  The little caps were included (actually attached) on our Arlo Cameras.  Any suggestions on how to cover/protect the charging port without damaging it?  Unfortunately, tape will melt / stick to the unit.

We bought a Sun Rain Camera Shade when we installed our battery camera four years ago, and it's done a good job protecting our camera through 4 Minnesota winters and 5 Minnesota summers, but ours is plugged in and live all the time, so the port is always occupied. Apparently Google Nest never thought that the port needed protection when the camera is used in battery mode.
