Nest Doorbell 2nd gen does not work with Smartthings

Hi,

I have a Nest Doorbell 1st gen from the time it came out. I also have automation setup to turn ON the porch light when there is a motion. When I upgraded to 2nd doorbell, I found that none of the automations work with Nest Doorbell. I had to return the doorbell after wasting one full day trying to figure out.

I also see in Reddit forums that many of the users in /r/Smartthings, and r/automation is not buying Nest Doorbell 2nd gen specifically due to this deficiency. 

Do you guys have any plans to provide a solution for this? Do I have to go with Ring or Wyze doorbell if I need automation?

SmartThings integration only currently works with doorbells setup in the Nest app. Doorbells setup in the Home app aren't currently compatible with SmartThings, as you've discovered. I'm not aware of any plans for Google to enable this kind of integration for doorbells in the Home app at this time. This is mostly a user to user community, therefore if this is important to you, I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.
