Nest cam night intruder alert

I have been trying for years to find a simple way to get my fancy nest floodlight camera and google home to wake me up with some kind of loud phone notification if someone is in our yard after dark, without also flooding my phone with notifications from my busy yard during the day.

With the recent updates to automations, I thought this would FINALLY be possible, but however I set things up, I cannot make it work properly. Whether I use the Home automation creation wizard or write it from scratch in YAML, I either get no notifications, or the notifications arrive in a dump at some seemingly random time in the morning.

I can't see any way the automation settings/script is wrong, and I think I've created the appropriate exception for Home app to override DND (which is on my phone at night), What an I missing? Any ideas or tips? I've tried everything I can think of... Very very grateful for any help at all!

I'd love to add some screenshots of settings, but gallery/upload doesn't want to work for me.

I'm basing these on my Reolink camera which wasn't pushing its notifications either until I changed Number 1.

1- Double check your camera's Push Notification schedule on your camera app.

2 - In your phone's Settings for push notifications:
- Sounds and Vibration
- Do not disturb
- Apps
- Select relevant app
- Select type of notification that can interupt

3 -Rebooting/restarting the camera?

4. Here's a nice trick to hear the name of the notification from your Android phone instead of just a tone...
