Nest thermostat causes house flooding

Tomjiang
Community Member

I have a nest thermometer setup on my third floor and other floors too. I set the thermostat to off  and drain the the water, because I don’t use heat for this winter for my third floor, but the nest company send me the notice on 5:07am ( my house is under40 degrees and the heat is turning on. And  my heating pipe broke, I got a  water flood. I am thinking, your company shall respond the repair and I need to set up the claim or I need to call my insurance company tell them to set up claim?
