Nest thermostat only as good as the data source

Currently, Nest thermostat uses weather data based on location zip code. The problem is that according to the USPS some zip codes cover over 10,000 square miles; not very accurate.  If Google created a solar outdoor Personal Weather Station with gps for the smart home and linked it to the nest network/internet just think of the possibilities.  the Google weather station could have gauges for rainfall, pressure, soil moister, ect....  If the network got large enough it could provide climate data.  Currently can only find a french system that is close to what is needed.

thanks
