Spotify stops during night

I use a payed account on Spotify playing a 7h long white noise for my baby.

During the night the playlist stops multiple times and I have to restart it from my phone so I don't disrupt the baby. Even so when nest restart playing, the light and the noise nest makes wakes up baby.

I use the command "play playlist Sophia dormir", that one being the playlist I created.

My phone goes on sleep mode around 21h and around 23 the playlist stops. Than again it stops after 2..3...hours

Its so frustrating cause it's the only reason I bought 2 google nest to have for the babys sleep

Hi Ioana-mcv,

Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what Nest speaker do you own? Did it work before? How long is the playlist that you are playing? Is the playlist on loop? Also, what steps have you taken so far?

Check out sample commands below:

Voice command

[Start with “Hey Google” or, “Ok Google”]

Play playlist - "Play Discover Weekly," "Play [playlist name]"

Play playlist pre-shuffled - "Shuffle Discover Weekly," “Play [playlist name] on shuffle”

Play playlist in a loop - "Repeat on," "Repeat off"

See this helpful link for more information.

Regards,

Juni

Hi,

I have the nest mini. The playlist is 7h long. If my phone is not on sleep mode, or airplain mode the app does not stop. It only stops if I put my phone on airplaine or sleep mode, because i suppose it cuts off the wifi of my phone.

I use the command: "of google" "play me the playlist "name of the playlist" Then i put my phone on sleep mode, and the nest still works ...a couple of hours..2....3 sometimes 5 h. And it stops before the end of the playlist.

Hello Ioana-mcv,

Oh, that’s odd. Let’s further look into it. Try these steps:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify app on your phone.
  • Reboot your phone after that and your Google Nest Mini.
  • Open the Google Home app > Settings > Music > Choose “No default provider > Unlink Spotify.
  • Go to Spotify app’s Settings and toggle a setting called view local devices only on and off
  • Go to https://goo.gle/2Ztsfxi and log in. On the Account Overview page, scroll down and click the “Sign Out Everywhere” button. Note that this force signs you out of every instance of Spotify on all your devices.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app, and then link Spotify.

Monitor its behavior and let us know how it goes.

Kind regards,
Alex
