Three things are not available. You might want to try setting them up again

Hi,

As long as I got my Google mini/google assistant and tell it to turn everything off, or sync all devices it responds with: "X (Three) things are not available. You might want to try setting them up again."

I googled and google but came up with nothing. I've deleted all services connected to my google home (like Philips hue) but still, it gives the error. I even deleted my home (under "delete this home") but still, it keeps on saying that 3 devices are not available.

 What I already did:

When did it start happening? Already for a long time. I don't seem to be any logic.

Were there any recent changes to your network or setup? I did move a year ago. But it was already messed up before that.

  1. Say the voice command, “Hey Google, sync all devices." : It responded with: "Okay. Synchronising for 4 providers. 4 Things are not available. Try setting them up again."
  2. Try creating a new home structure and move all your devices to the new home. Once done, delete the old home structure that you have. > I did this, success 😞

Did you delete your entire home and create a new one? Yes, I did.

Please prevent me from buying Alexa!

PS. I asked this question before but got blocked out... (Stupid system you have to respond within 24h of the last message otherwise it will be closed..)

Hey MarkMark,

Thanks for getting back to us and we're sorry for the trouble this caused you.

Could you please try clearing the cache and data of your Google Home app then reinstall it? If you'll get the same, result go to the list of apps connected to the Google Account. Sign in to the same Google account you've used on your Google Home app, select the app that you're not using> remove.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Alex

Hi there!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I did even better; I recently go a new phone so I did a whole clean install of everything. Did not matter.

The list I get when clicking on your link is fairly small. I removed the few I do not use. None of the items listed there is related to google home.

When I ask google to sync my devices it says it will do so for 4 providers, 3 are not available. When I go to 'Google home app > settings > works with google' I've linked four providers (Honeywell, hue, switch bot, tuya). All of them are functioning well.

Oh, I don't know if it has anything to do with it. I have a smart TV from Samsung, I've linked my Google account with it (somehow because I do not remember adding my credentials and still it shows up in my Google home app and as a cast option). In addition, I've hooked up a chrome cast ultra to this TV ( in order to play stadia games). Both are connected to the internet (Chromecast ultra via UTP). When I ask Google Home to turn off my tv it turns it off AND says "Sorry I could not turn of The living room TV".

I am having the same issue with my Google Home.    It started as 1 thing not available, but recently has changed to two things not available.

It is not a cache issue, like Mark I have a brand new device.   IT appears Google Home thinks there are "Works with Google" devices linked to the account that are not visible and either been deleted from the "Works with Google" list or are just phantom devices.

Is there a way to see inactive/disabled "Works with Google" devices so we can delete these?

I also have this exact issue and cannot find an answer. It seems like quite a few people are in this situation. Incredibly frustrating. How can we get a higher level response from Google here?

Hi ihmcguinness,

This is not the experience we want you to have; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? What is the error message when controlling other smart devices?

For us to isolate further, may we know if you’ve already tried the steps above? If so, how was it? What are the smart devices linked to your Google Home? Are they working on their native app?

In the meantime, it would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord from your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Dan

I'm using home minis and a home max as the speakers. The device that is triggering the "One or more devices are not available. Please try setting them up again" response is a smart light bulb from Sylvania. I have about 20 of these, but I deleted one from the Sylvania app and google seems to have lost track of it. It does now show up in my device list, but it is still "present" enough to trigger this response every time I run a routine to "turn on/off all lights". I tried re-adding the light bulb to sylvania, but it just shows up as a new device in the google home app and the response persists.

I have tried all three steps you suggested, with no effect.

Hello ihmcguinness,

Understood. Check out this link and see if Sylvania is still linked. If so, you can remove it from there. Once done, relink it to the Google Home app.

Thanks,

Juni

Sylvania is still linked, and it should be. I still have ~20 smart lights through that app. Just the one that was deleted is the issue here.

Hey ihmcguinness,

Sorry for the delays. To confirm, have you tried unlinking and re-linking your Sylvania account from the Google Home app? This will help to refresh the connection between your smart devices.

Cheers,
