There seem to be issues using Google Nest devices in a country than where they were first sold. Google Nest says this; it's about cameras and doorbells, but I think the same thing applies to other Google Nest devices as well:

"We don’t recommend using your Nest camera in a different country than where it was purchased.... Nest cameras and doorbells are optimized to work best with specific Wi-Fi standards depending on where they were sold. This means that your device might experience decreased performance if you move it to a different country, and it might not comply with regulations there."

Hi COOKABOORRA,

Thanks for posting in the community and to @MplsCustomer for jumping in! I understand you're experiencing an issue with your U.S. Google Nest device not connecting to your Italian Wi-Fi network. That's definitely not the experience we want for you, and I'm here to help!

To isolate the main issue, I have some questions for you:

  • What's your specific Google Nest device model? Please check out the following link for your reference: Smart Homes start with Google Nest
  • Did you get any error message when trying to connect it?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
Juan
