I just installed a nest pro thermostat. Can I get notifications via text that there is low temperature in the home? The thermostat is associated with a G mail account and I do not use g mail. How do I change it to an email address that I actually use?
It is a second home and not occupied most of the time.

Hi @Rgclark4,
Thank you very much for contacting this community! I understand that you just installed a Nest Thermostat and have some questions about the notifications and linked email. I'd like to inform you that devices set up in the Google Home app or Nest app will only send push notifications to your phone, emails, or both about important events, emergencies, and technical problems; the option to receive them via text message is not available at the moment. Therefore, I would like to provide you with this feedback form where you can share your ideas so we can improve.
Regarding your Gmail account that you are not currently using, if you wish to change your email address, it will depend on the email's domain (if it is Hotmail, Yahoo, EOL, etc.); it is not possible to create new accounts with those emails, only use them for existing accounts. This applies directly to thermostats where the setup is done in the Nest app (Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen and Nest Thermostat E). However, if you use the Google Home app for the setup (Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen and Nest Thermostat), it is necessary to only use Gmail accounts.
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Eduardo
