My camera keeps labeling my face as a familiar person—my son. I can’t figure out how to choose those images and label them as me. I have not had a chance to set up my image as familiar, and now it won’t let me. It only lets me delete them from his images, not mark them as misidentified and label them as me. So frustrating!

I have the same issue. Apparently Google never planned for the scenario where it might actually be wrong. So amazingly stupid and frustrating. Can't believe I'm paying for this horrible service.

Hi there,
I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having these troubles. I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this obstacle. I am afraid that there is no such option to edit or rename/reassign your familiar faces. I hope the option becomes available in the future. Please feel free to leave your feedback in the app.
Best Regards,
Brad

Thank you. So, if I just delete my child’s face recognition and start again, will that give me a chance to differentiate if I give it time to collect some faces?
09-13-2022 08:38 AM
Currently, as far as I am aware, you cannot differentiate them as this is a self-learning system. But you can remove them all, and start again, and the cam may do a better job of sorting them moving forward. Thank you for your feedback, though!
Best regards,
Brad

There's nothing to talk about until Google fixes this. This should have been an obvious feature in MVP release. Here we are years later and there's still a massive feature gap.

Essentially, yes.

Hi folks,
There was an update to familiar faces that you should check out! Nest Aware customers now have the ability to merge and move familiar faces in the library. These features enhance user control on managing their familiar face library. Customers will be able to merge more than 2 people in the familiar face library.
To merge 2 persons, customers can:
-Select multiple names in the familiar face library.
-Click the merge icon.
-Give a name to the collection of names to merge them.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Brad

Brad, that's an old update which does not address the problem we're referring to at all.
09-20-2022 04:45 PM
I do not need to merge; I need to separate.
09-21-2022 03:19 PM
Hi all,
Unfortunately, there is no such option at this time to separate your familiar faces, only to move them to a new category or to merge with the new update.
Best regards,
Brad

I can’t even get them to move to a new category. It says touch to move or delete, but when I tap the incorrect images, the only option is to delete. There is no option to move anything.

Hey folks,
I can confirm this feature isn’t available but we hear you. Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience for our users — we'll take this as feedback. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this in 24 hours if I won't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Wish I could turn off notifications if familiar face is seen. I don't need to be notified when I walk into my own living room.
