To the Google Nest Aware (and their Community Specialist),
I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with the recent price increase of Nest Aware, from $60 to $80 for the basic plan. This significant price hike, representing a 33% increase, is simply unreasonable and unjustified.
For many users, the affordability of Nest Aware was a major reason for choosing it over alternative security solutions. This price increase effectively pushes it beyond the budget of many loyal customers, making it a less competitive option.
While I acknowledge the need for companies to update their pricing structures from time to time, the magnitude of this increase is simply too steep. It feels like Google is taking advantage of its dominant position in the market and exploiting the loyalty of its customers.
Furthermore, the lack of any substantial improvement in features or services to justify this price increase only furthers my disappointment. It feels like Google is simply charging more for the same product, which is unacceptable.
As a result of this price hike, I, along with many other users, am now forced to explore alternative security solutions. There are numerous third-party providers offering similar or even better features at significantly lower prices.
The Nest Aware community is a vibrant and loyal one, and I believe this decision by Google will severely damage its relationship with its customers. I urge Google to reconsider this price increase and offer a more reasonable solution that respects the loyalty and trust of its customers.
If Google remains unwilling to address this issue, I, and I suspect many others, will have no choice but to move away from Nest Aware and seek alternative solutions elsewhere.
