Nest Aware says no compatible device

Camera model NC1102ES

Nest Aware within the Google Home app says No compatible device.

I am using the trial version. Not willing to pay for a subscription until I know my camera is going to work as advertised.

Suggestions for a remedy?

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.

As I stated in the original post, I am using the Home app.

The camera is connected to the Home app. I can see and use some features of the camera.

However, from the settings menu in the Home app when I click on Nest Aware under Features, I get this message: No compatible device.
To use Nest Aware, add a compatible device
and set up your new features

The trial offer I have for Nest Aware ends in 8 days. Why would I pay for something that I apparently cannot use (according to the above referenced message?)

Nest Doorbell (battery)

Using the Home app, when trying to add Nest Aware, still says “No compatible device”. How do you get the Nest doorbell to use the nest aware functions?

Hey folks.

I see what the issue is, your cam you have is a much older model and is only available in the Nest App, not the Google Home app. It is not compatible with the Google Home app. I am sorry I didn't catch this earlier!

Best regards,

Brad.

Brad,

I ditto what Amy4 says and using a brand new Nest Doorbell and am still getting the same exact problems Amy4 is getting….why does the trial not let you actually “Trial” the features?

@Jah334

I am wondering if you are logged into the same account associated with your trial then? The trial will go to whatever account you set your cameras up with. Depending on the device, will depend on which app it is available in. The new 2021 cams are not available in the Nest App. As unfortunate as this is for some, it is usually something sort of simple and cut and dry like that if you know what I mean. Check out which email you are logged in with.

Best regards,

Brad.

I did check this and the trial subscription matches how I’m logged into the Home app, but still doesn’t show any devices compatible. Doorbell works fine just no history longer then 3hrs. Also tried removing and re-adding the device and still nothing with nest aware. Tried all this on android and iOS devices, still nothing. Tried updating all devices, the Home app, and operating systems, still nothing with nest aware. Tried full factory reset on the doorbell itself, still nothing with nest aware. I’ve removed all other members of home app but the one I’ve trial subscribed too, still nothing with nest aware app. Not sure what else to try here to make nest aware recognize the new door bell. The trial seems to keep counting down the days (17-days left) even though the trial is not being used by anything.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Same here.  I only have one email address - a gmail address no less.

This shouldn't be this complicated. I'm ready to take it back to the store and buy a different brand.

Hey folks.

Unfortunately, I cannot assist you any further with these issues regarding your Nest Aware trial, or with your subscription. I do not have any of that access. Please contact Support for further assistance. I just do not have the accesses to help you, and it sounds like this is more of an issue that Support can handle.

Best regards,

Brad.

I am having the same problem.  I have a paid for nest aware account, a new 2nd gen nest doorbell and nest outdoor/indoor battery camera, both are setup and working fine in google home but when I look at nest aware in settings it says there are no compatible devices, it just doesn't seem to recogize they are there on the same account.  This means I cant access any of the additional features that I should have with nest aware. Home and aware are definitely active and setup on the same google account.
