Nest Thermostat E

Set the thermostat to 50 at our second home in Vermont, as we always do when we leave the house, to insure the house does not freeze. Our primary house is in New York, and I just now checked on the thermostat to see if it were working on my cell phone. It indicates that it is not connected to WiFi. Called the electric company and they tell me we have electricity. Does anyone have a remedy to connect the thermostat to WiFi short of taking a 4 1/2 road trip to check on things?
