Nest (google) cam keeps turning off

SimVan

My Google (Nest) cam is always wired (can operate on battery, but I choose to keep it plugged in). I want it on all the time to check the history (monitoring pet feeding) but almost every time I check in it’s turned itself off a couple of hours earlier.

 Never have that issue with any of my original Nest cameras.

Well, it’s still happening. I’ve had to move that camera to somewhere it’s less necessary… If there’s a fix I’d love to know what it is.

@SimVan

Do you have any schedules set up with your camera? I am wondering if there is some sort of schedule that is getting in the way. I would look into that and see just to make sure. In the meantime, restart the devices, and if needs be, Factory Reset them and try again.

Best regards,

Brad.

No schedules on this camera.

Did a factory reset. Will monitor the result over the next few days.

Sorry, I tried to reply before but I somehow got locked out and couldn’t log back in… just followed your link this time 🙂

There have been no breaks in transmission since I did that factory reset… (almost ‘try turning it off and on again’ - always the best tech advice). I’d used it straight out of the box without setting any schedule or other doo-hickey so no idea what was going on.

 Now I’ll return to complaining about the crappy reviewing system of the Google Home interface compared to the ease of the original Nest app…

Thanks!
