I was a victim of a person stealing from my premises and needed what seemed like a great solution, In the beginning it was just a company called NEST & you could connect almost anything to this platform. Then another big one decided to buy it and charge a lot for it and eventually they are going to make everything that was purchased from the store or online to stop working on April 8, 2024. The reasoning behind this is unclear at best and there are no good explanations to why? There is a way to make it work. It's a good way to get rid of the obsolete products and old programs so that they don't have to reprogram them. They don't have anyone to figure how. They are just going to bring in all new ones that will cost to much for the ordinary persons. It's a way to make a lot of money and have no good reasons for the changes. If they want to keep customers then they should manage to make all previous products backward compatible like Microsoft family of programs and the computer and laptop industry with plug and play. I suppose nobody kept a list of drivers compiled from the beginning to the present and therefore the only solution is to do what they are doing. It's unfortunate for the average customers who invested thousands of dollars and their answer is a few hundred dollars towards items that will be disconnected and not work. Can anyone explain to me this one?

I wish I could explain it! I never wanted to connect with Google Home because they have enough information on its now they want inside our homes! This is a violation of our right to choose another company OTHER than the SOLE one they are foisting on us! I too spent big money on all my devices and now stuck using only Google! I’m petty upset about this too!

We are always looking for ways to improve. I’d recommend sharing feedback about Google Nest to get your feedback or feature requests to the people who can make changes.
