WiFi drops

Google WiFi continually drops the connection. Have to turn off and reset multiple times a day. Is there a solution besides ripping this out and starting over?

H, Wkouba,

Sorry for the connection issues you've been experiencing. I know how frustrating drops can be on a home network. I'll be happy to help you out with this, but I do have a few questions first.

  • Are you using Google WiFi, Nest WiFi, or a mix of the devices in your home network?
  • When your connection drops, do you see any status light changes on your WiFi points or router? If so, what color are they?
  • Do the drops happen totally randomly, or are there consistent patterns to the drops?
  • Do all points and the router go offline, or is it limited to a single point?
  • Will the network come back online itself, or do you need to restart the network to get it back online?

If there are any more details you can share, that would be helpful. I look forward to hearing back from you on this and helping you get it resolved.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi @Wkouba , you're probably suffering from this issue, as many of us are:

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Nest-Wifi-Devices-Slow-or-Drop/td-p/66625 .  Feel free to go to that thread and join the cause.  In all likeliness, what you are seeing is not a mistake on your part, whatever the community specialists might tell you.  Many others experience the same problems, indicating that these are bugs which the developers have to fix.
