2nd Gen Smoke Detector Install - 11 units?

I am replacing 11 old wired smoke detectors.   I am about to purchase nest protect 2nd gen smoke/co2 detectors.  Order limit is 10 from the google store.  I want to make sure that you can interconnect 11 units.  I’ve read the specs and it doesn’t spell out an interconnected limit.  Any experience with an install greater than 10?

You can connect up to 18 interconnected Nest Protects to your account.

Thank you for the reply. I went online with google yesterday and had a chat with a nest protect specialist. They also told me I could connect 11 units.  They didn’t give me the 18 unit limit info.

I'd strongly recommend not going with the Nest Protect.  Google's support for this product is minimal, and they have a very hard time connecting to each other.  They do not interconnect via your LAN - they interconnect via a very flimsy "ad hoc" network that they setup and maintain.  The network is prone to dropping clients, so you can expect to have lots of "offline" devices.  I was unable to keep more than 2 of my 5 protects online (and that required constant factory resets and re-initializations).  If you're looking to install 11, definitely use another system.
