Best Protect False Alarm at 12:30am. The alert said “There’s smoke in the bedroom.”

One of our Nest Protects went off last night at 12:30am in one of our bedrooms. The alert said, “There is smoke in the bedroom.” And that was it. Nothing else happened after that.  I checked the Nest app, there was no indications that it went off. When I looked at history for that device/room, there wasn’t record of activity…ever. This device is only a year old, with expiration not until 2030. Nobody was in the room at the time and the door was closed; there was no smoke and no steam.

The alert occurred again tonight at 11pm. Once again, there was no clear designation in the alert to which room was involved, and the alert ended after about 20 seconds. There was no record of the alert on the mobile app. I’m very concerned about this issue now and whether these devices are hacked or have a bug. We have 5 Nest Protects now, at a considerable expense to have undetermined alerts.
