Expiration on Nest Protect

I’m based in the UK. Please advise on the expiration of the Nest Protect Gen 2 on the box, as I’d like to order some. Also, if I decide to give them as gifts to someone living in Singapore, will there be any problem using the Nest Protect there? Thanks.

To comply with certification standards, 2nd gen Nest Protect has to be replaced after 10 years. The "replace by" date is displayed in the Nest app, and is also printed on the back of the device. However, don't confuse this with the warranty period. It has a two-year limited warranty. As for sending it as a gift to Singapore, you should be aware Google Nest products are optimized to work best with specific Wi-Fi standards depending on where they are sold. This means if you buy a product in one country, it may not work as expected, or may not work at all, if you try to use it in a different country than where it was purchased. In addition, Nest Protect is not officially sold or supported in Singapore. Therefore, to receive support or claim on the warranty if ever needed, it would need to be returned to a country where it is officially sold and supported.
