Installed Nest Protect but no power

I have installed two Nest Protects via self-install.  I have tested the power at both spots and there is power, however one unit claims no power, even after I swapped it to the other spot where I know it works.  Could the problem be with the actual unit itself?  Can I get another unit from a warranty?  Thanks.
