I'm starting to use the First Alert detectors that are compatibile with Nest to slowly replace my Nest Protects that are no longer valid. First Alert indicated I needed to migrate to Google Home to see both my Nest devices and First Alert Devices. So, after resisting the migration process, I decided to migrate my Nest account to my Google Acct. I first tried a business google account (didn't realize it wasn't supported at the time). I answered some prompts about giving account access, etc. At the end of the process, it told me I had to use a personal gmail account. I tried the process again with my personal gmail account. Weirdly, It didn't ask me the same prompts the second time. Now when I login to my Google Home with my personal account, it doesn't show any of the nest devices. When I try migrating again, it tells me that that my gmail account is already associated with a Nest device. So, it made the association but didn't migrate the devices for some reason. It really feels like the initial attempt to migrate to a business acount confused the migration process.
I have an extremely large number of Nest Protect devices (some are located very high up on the ceiling). Migrating each device one-by-one would probably take me half a day. Is it possible for google to unassociate my Nest account with my google account so I can try again? I already have other Google Home devices associated with my gmail account so I really don't want to migrate Nest to a different google account.

MAYBE this will help:
We don't have any Nest Protects, but supposedly you can only see Nest Protects in the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app. (You have to opt into that version; we have still NOT done so, though it's been available since 2022.) Otherwise, you still have to use the Google Nest app to access your Nest Protects (but--post migration--logging into the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option using your Google Account).
Otherwise you could try contacting Support:
1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Select your device from the dropdown, click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Thanks for the insights. I've signed up for the public preview, but I'm guessing that is not the root problem. I also don't see my thermastats in the Google Home app either. When I login to the Nest app using my personal gmail, it doesn't show any devices. When I login to the Nest App using my Nest credidentials (which I luckily can still do) I see all my devices. I'll try support. Much appreciated!

If you are still able to log into the Google Nest app with your Nest Account, then your account has NOT been migrated:
https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676
I can't tell for sure from your post what happened on your second migration attempt, but your post says you already have other Google Home devices associated with your gmail account. Note that if the Google Account to which you were trying to migrate had already been used to install Google Nest devices in the Google Home app, then the migration should have failed with a "Google Account is already linked with another Nest account." If that is the case, then unfortunately you would have to manually remove all of your Google Nest app devices from the Google Nest app, and then sign back on using "Sign on with Google" and reinstall them in the Google Nest app, hoping you have no glitches in doing so. See the "Google Account is already linked with another Nest account" topic in the above link to migration issues.)

You are incorrect about being able to sign into the Nest App using your Nest account.
The Nest app defaults to your Google account, but you can still log in using your Nest account by clicking the link at the bottom of the sign-in page in the app.
