Hi Jim,
Sorry to hear about your Protect troubles! Decoding our Nest lights might take some getting used to, but I'm happy to help be your guide.
Depending on how the chirp patterns sound (once every 60 seconds or twice every 60 seconds), there are several different things your Protect is trying to tell you.
It could be a low battery issue, an issue with Nest's internal sensors, is offline, or needs to be replaced. This sheet can help you determine which one fits the pattern you're describing.
