New Smoke - P0018

8 new Gen2 smoke install. Error code P018 every time on every device. New home, no other devices or interference. Tried iphone 13, iphone 8 - both airplane mode, no vpn. Wi-fi is a Unifi DM SE feeding numerous domes with massive signal strength, have setup a separate 2.4ghz network just for these devices. Of course first tired on network that switches 2.4/5.0, but failed.

Odd: As this is first device ever, I would have expected a P008? I  am never given a add first device choice, only "Add Product" like it assumes other products are online. Not sure if that matters? Also, the smoke detector shows on my network as being online, but does not connect to NEST app and gives me the P0018 code. Perhaps just an app issue?  Without app connectivity I assume they won't "talk".

Been there done that, plus a whole lot more.  Gone as far as setting up a wireless network at 2.4 just for your products. The smoke devices show on network (Unifi console) but fail to show on nest app and/or google home app.  Hired my company's IT support and they also can't make these things work on apple or android.  Little insulting that you're advice is to reset to factory and turn my phone off/on.  How do I return the 8 devices, clearly I'm not eating $1,000 + because of your faulty product/app.

Hey bford,

I'm sorry for the delay and trouble. Let's see what's going on — what are the status light of your Nest Protect devices? How far are they from your Wi-Fi router? Follow the steps below to give Nest Protect and the Nest app a fresh start for setup.

1. Press the Nest button 3 times, or until 'Cancelled' is spoken. Nest Protect's light
will turn off.
2. Quit and restart the Nest app on your mobile device. For iOS devices
follow these instructions. For Android devices, tap the Recents button, then
swipe the Nest app icon until it disappears. Specific steps for your Android
device may vary, so check the manufacturer's website or manual for instructions.
3. Try adding your Nest Protect again.
4. If the previous steps don't work, you may need to restart your phone or tablet.

Thanks,
Archie

Hi bford,

Thanks for trying — and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. May I ask where and when did you purchase your Nest Protect?

Thanks for the help, @aatienza
