New protect - CO sensor malfunction

I have just tried to install a new nest protect and once set up is complete I get a co sensor failure on the nest app and a chirping from the nest protect every 60 seconds. I have reset 3 times and cleaned and still the same issue.

 

how is it possible that a brand new nest protect can have a co sensor failure. Any help?

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear if you're having issues with your new Nest Protect. To confirm, what is the light status of your Nest Protect while it's going off? Is that a wired or battery type? Have you performed the safety check?

Hi, it is a battery powered version. I have performed a safety check a number of times and I see have the malfunction saying the CO sensor is malfunction and replace the device.
