Protect smoke detectors NOT compatible with ADT Security

Is anyone aware of a workaround to pair our Nest Protect Smoke detectors with our home ADT+ security system? Google has told me twice they must be managed in the Nest app, are not compatible with the Google Home app and kindly have a good day. ADT cannot pair a Nest device unless it’s in Google Home.  I’ve read the 300+ comments on prior threads and don’t see this ADT question.

Hi Bryon, Thank you for your quick canned response. This has been a known ongoing issue for years so my feedback means nothing. When Nest devices migrated to Google Home and Nest Hub security moved to ADT; which was aggressively pushed to us, it was known then that the Smoke CO detectors were not supported in Google Home. So now I pay for 24/7 home monitoring with ADT and they cannot monitor my home for fire. How is the Nest smoke CO Protect still being sold and marketed knowing they are useless to the ADT security system Nest pushed on us?

Hi Creedlex,

Thank you for posting. I understand your frustration with the Nest Protect not being supported by the ADT security system. It's really disappointing to discover that a product you've invested in doesn't fully integrate with the security system.

The Nest Protect was initially designed for the Google Home ecosystem and may not have been fully compatible with the ADT platform during migration.

I apologize for any inconvenience this caused you. I would recommend checking with ADT to see if they have alternative solutions. They may be able to provide additional information or options that can help.

I really appreciate your understanding and patience.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Byron

Hi Byron, my frustration is with Google, not ADT. If all the Google Nest products sold  were able to be managed in the Google Home app, this would not be an issue. Why do I have to manage these devices in the Nest app? If, as you say,  Nest Protect was initially designed for the Google Home ecosystem, then whhhhhyyyyy aren’t they compatible with the Google Home ecosystem? A 2 year ongoing problem should be fixed by now. The Nest Protect detectors (which are still being currently sold) should have a place in the Google Home app.

ADT does have a suggestion to make this work. It is throw away our Nest Protects and buy new smoke detectors from compatible devices, either from them, or someone else.
