There was a problem while connecting to the nest service

Not impressed to be honest, £1000 in smoke alarms for the house and the app is like some crappy Bluetooth LED light rubbish you get from Temu, not acceptable, done everything they said, restart router, reinstall app, restart phone, same message over and over, it needs sorting now!!!!  I feel completely ripped off!!!

Similar issue. I had fiberoptic wifi installed, but since I'm not allowed to simply add new wifi network I had to delete the smoke detectors from my app. But in attempting to reinstall them I cannot. I enter the Entry Key when prompted and ensure I press the button on the face of the smoke detector for 10 seconds to get the blue ring and searching for network voice announcement...then with one of my detectors, the Near Network name pops up and I click on thar but am told the app refuses to recognize the device. The other smoke detector I can't even get the app to show me the Nest Network name. I spent an hour trouble shooting along and 45 minutes trouble shooting on a call with a Neat representative. She is insisting the only way to solve the issue is to connect thru Google Home which I never had to do before and don't want to start doing now. So basically I have to spend $400 on new smoke detectors because Nest doesn't know how to make a device that changes wifi networks. I'm going back to analog.

You absolutely can update the WiFi network.  https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9223575?hl=en

Also, if you don't want to do that...why not just name your new wifi network with the same SSID and password as the old ?

I am having the same issue - I have tried everything. Factory reset on all nest protects, re-installing the app, reseting the wifi modum, lowering the firewall, ensuring it is on 2.4, etc. and it still will not connect, getting error P006. Very frustrating and feel that these thermostats have been a waste of money. They initially connected well, but we had to reset our internet one time due to a ISP issue, same network name and password, and ever since they will not connect. Any ideas??

The only thing I learned is that you're more likely to solve the problem yourself than if you consult Nest. I'm sorry the factory reset didn't work for you. If it is under warranty still then replacement is the route I would take. This product doesn't seem to have been designed to handle new wifi networks / network resets.
