2 Nest E units not booting

We have had 2 Nest E units in our home for a couple of years now.

They were both unplugged a few months ago when we started decorating a couple of rooms and we haven't needed the heating on so haven't remembered to plug them in again until now. 


Problem is now both of them show the Google boot logo then just go to a picture of a square that has a house at the bottom and a down pointing arrow above it.


Any ideas?

Thanks for posting ― let's get this sorted out.


Are the wires properly seated on your Nest Thermostat E's base? Could you send a photo of your device's display?


Give these steps a whirl:


  • Charge your Nest Thermostat E using a USB cable for one to two hours.
  • Restart your device by pressing and holding it while placed on its base for 10 seconds.
