2nd Generation Nest Thermostat replacement discount offer

I have received the offer of a 50% discount replacement Tado thermostat , which is being proposed to users of the 2nd generation Nest thermostat. 

The offer is for those in the EU. 

I am in the UK, famously no longer in the EU.

I would prefer the offer of a discount to get a Nest 3rd or 4th generation, as is offered to those in the US and Canada. 

How is it that I am only being offered something I am not eligible for?

The answer is easy: Google sends out those mails by an automated system to anyone that bought their products and registered them. To them it doesn't matter if you're not eligible, they did their job. 
They don't give a **bleep** about what happens next.
I'm personally amazed how they are legally able to just pull the rug on over a million devices without repercussions by lawmakers at all.
