Hi,
I have a 3rd generation nest thermostat connected to an alpine gas burner. There is an only a 2 wire that is wired from then thermostat to the burner.
red and white wires.
connected red wire to red connector on the burner
and
connected white wire to white connector on the burner
this works but Ive found that the pump never stops running which then would eventually Burn out the pump.
apparently I’m told that I need a three wire and the wire C is required in order for the nest to work.
is this correct ? Is there a work around?
I also found that Google has an adapter power connector. Which takes in 2 wires r and w and then outputs 3 wires R W and C But this is not working either.
any suggestions on how to get this to work ?

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay. I'd love to know more about this. Could you share a photo of your current thermostat's wiring?
Thanks,
Mel
