B and w terminals. No R????

My Honeywell thermostat has a black and a white wire. They were hooked up to the w terminal and the b terminal. No other wires or hookups. What are these wires supposed to be? R and w?

You will use b as R and white to W but you need a C wire.

If you have a extra wire in the cable use for C otherwise run a new thermostat cable with 5 conductors to the Nest.

You will need to connect the C at the furnace end.
