Best app now wiring not compatible???

We checked with the compatibility checker before placing the order for the Nest. The Checker said the Nest was compatible with our system. Now that I’m trying to install it through the Nest app, it’s telling me that my wiring system is not compatible and that I might be able to use the Learning Nest. Please advise if this current wiring will work with the basic nest. Wires used are: W, RH, and RC. Rh and RC are jumped.

No it won't work with the Nest Thermostat (2020 model) I'm afraid, you need the Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E. This also assumes you don't have a millivolt heating system (usually an older gas furnace built into the wall or floor).

If and when you pick up a  Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E, use the Nest app for setup, and don't enter the jumper wire into the app, as Nest Thermostats don't use jumper wires, they have an internal jumper wire which gets used if needed.

Thanks. However, my 2nd floor thermostat has only the W & R terminals connected and works fine.

The 1st floor thermostat (in question) has that jumper from Rh to Rc BUT the Rc is not necessary since there is no cooling system connected to this furnace or thermostat.  I want to remove the jumper and try the Basic Nest connecting with just the W & Rh terminals. Can this work?  Can't imagine why not since the 2nd floor thermostat is wired that way (and no jumper).
