Blinking red and restarting. Battery always low

I've been using Nest thermostat for the last 3 months with no problems, last night I noticed it is not connected to wifi due to low battery, so I charged the nest with a USB cable for 2 hours and plugged it in again, all was fine until this morning, it was offline again, I tried to find why, and it keeps restarting and says "back in a bit" with blinking red light. Is there a way to replace it? I assume it's still under warranty?

Just to add to this, without a C wire the nest only gets power when the system is actively heating or cooling, so if you have started using less time with the AC on , then this could also explain why it has suddenly started to lose power.

From the sounds of it, the nest isn't getting enough power from your system, which is causing the issue.  Do you have a C wire ?

I don't have a C wire. But why this just happened now, it's been working fine for the last 3 months since installed.

It was receiving a "trickle charge" slightly below what it actually used daily, so the battery was able to power it for those 3 months with no issue.   2 hours to charge it via usb only topped off the battery enough for the overnight load I suspect, so your back to square one.   My suggestion is to charge it again via USB, and once it's back online, log into the app and go into settings to check the voltage( settings, technical info, battery).  It should stay firm at 3.89 if receiving proper voltage and is fully charged.  If it starts dropping, that's the answer.

Thanks, I will try to charge it for 2 hours and plug it in again.. What should I do if it starts dropping again? So you don't think it is a battery defect?

If it's able to take a charge via USB I suspect the battery itself is okay, and it's just not getting enough juice while on the wall.  

One possible solution is to get a C wire adaptor to install , however I personally have no experience with that.  There are many articles online that you can google for more information about this option.
