Boiler firing when it shouldn’t

We’ve just installed a nest thermostat to an oil fired heating system. The house is occupied most of the day. We have set up a schedule for both heating & hot water but the boiler is firing when both parts say they are switched off. Neither hot water or heating are scheduled & it is not preheating. Any ideas please? I’m in UK. Thanks

Hi there and thanks for reaching our community. I'm sorry to hear about your issue, but I'll do my best to assist you. Could you please tell me if there is any error code on the thermostat display?

Thanks for your response.

No there isn’t. According to the display & the app both heating & hot water are off.

Hi there! This might be happening because of various reasons and in situations like this we perform a click test to determine if the issue is related to your thermostat or to another part of your heating system like a valve, wires or with the boiler itself. That being said, please go near your Heat Link and turn the heating on from the app and let me know if you hear a click. You should hear a click when you turn on the heating and another click when you turn it off. Just to make sure that the relay is working properly, please try that 5 or 6 times and let me know if you hear a click at every command. You can try this with the boost for hot water as well. Please let me know how it goes.
