Can one Nest control BOTH a forced air HVAC and a radiant heated floor system?

Hello, I have a setup with forced air HVAC (cool + heat) and a separate radiant floor heating system.

I'm trying to find out if one Nest can control both systems or if we need to install two Nests for each zone?

Researching online and talking to Nest Pros has led me to believe it "should be do-able" but no definitive answers.

Thanks!

You might be able to do what you want, but you would have to use the Nest 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat to do it.

Do you use the radiant floor system as your primary heat source or as an AUX heat source?

Thanks! Radiant heat will be the primary source. So we need to be able to turn the heat on sequentially (radiant first and then forced air heat)

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum.

Thanks for your help, Patrick_Caezza. The Nest Learning Thermostat has a feature called Tru Radiant that allows you to easily manage your radiant floor heating system.

Check out this link for more details.

Best regards,

Ryan

Hi Ryan

Thanks for the reply.  I am aware of True Radiant but that is for individual control of a radiant system. No one (incl Google Nest tech support and Nest Pros) are able to tell me whether it can control both a forced air HVAC system AND a radiant system at the same time apart from saying "maybe, give me $$ and I will tell you for sure" which is a little disappointing/frustrating.
