My house is in the Bahamas, where there are no post codes.
In the Nest app page where I provide my home address there is NO field for the post code (which is correct). Yet, when I confirm the address I get a pop up asking me to provide the post code.
Which I can’t provide because (1) we don’t have post codes in the Bahamas and (2) there is no post codes field.
I see that my house is indicated in a random place in the map. I tried to drag it to the correct place, but I can’t. When I touch the map the page with the fields to proved the house address opens.
This post code issues seems to be a bug. Which consider that a country does’t have post codes, but still shows a pop up asking to provided it.
Furthermore the troubleshooting asks to also check Settings > Location in the thermostat, but there is not Location setting in the thermostat…

Hi iagho,
Thanks for posting. Could you confirm which Nest Thermostat you have? Check this link to know which device you have.

Hi
I have 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat.
The issue is limited to the Nest App (not to the Google Home App).
As detailed above, in the Nest App I cannot set the location (no postcode field for Bahamas, yet popup requiring postcode in order to proceed), whilst in Google Home App I could set the correct home location.
Having said that, I eventually noticed that Nest App is now correctly showing me as home/away (even if in the settings the home location is not correct). I suppose that it is pulling the home/away data from the Google Home App.
On this basis, I would say that the problem 'is resolved', albeit, if I were relaying on Nest App-only it would not be (as the Nest App still doesn't have the home location set).

Hi iagho,
Thanks for those details. For now, keep monitoring your Nest Thermostat through the Home app for more accurate information.
Thanks for understanding.

Mel

Thank you for letting me know.
I consider the issue resolved (via the Google Home App).
