Hi Yukon,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the time zone on your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen. I understand how frustrating this situation can be. But don't worry; help is here. Let me explain that when connected to the app and Wi-Fi, your thermostat automatically sets the date and time based on your location. It will also automatically adjust for daylight saving time based on your time zone. If your thermostat isn't connected to Wi-Fi, you'll be able to set the date and time manually.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Jenny

HiJenny,
Both my thermostat and cameras are connected to wifi and all connected to the Google Home app. The Nest app will not allow me to add the 4th gen thermostat. The time zone on my cameras have been wrong for years during day light savings.

Hi Yukon,
Thanks for your reply. I understand that you already have the devices connected to the WiFi network. Just to let you know, the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen has to be set up on the Google Home app. About the time zone, could you please tell me, where are you located?
Please keep me posted.
Regards,
Jenny

There have been a number of other posts in this forum from customers who have a wrong time zone because the database that Google Nest uses seems to have an incorrect time zone assigned to the customer's address. In some cases, the customer's locale is one that does not use daylight savings time; in other cases, the customer's locale is close to a time zone border; in both cases, it seems Google Nest's database is unaware of this. In one case, there issue was that was a large area of Mexico that changed its time zone, and after a long while Google Nest acknowledged and then corrected the error. In other cases--in the U.S. and in several other countries, including Australia--it seems like the customers never could get their time zone corrected. In fact, it seemed like Google Nest Support ignored all comments and questions referring to the database used by Google Nest, and told the customer to factory reset their device, or told the customer to call Google Maps to obtain a correction, and Google Maps never responded. In a couple of cases where the customer had reported the particular town or suburb where they were located, I tried Googling the time for the customer's town and discovered that Google Search ALSO reported the wrong time zone. And a couple of customers with this problem also reported that when they use Google Maps for directions to or from their home, Google Maps' results ALSO reflect the same incorrect time zone shown on their Google Nest devices for their home.
