Compatibiliy question

Hello, I would like to buy nest learning thermostat but I am not sure whether it is compatible with my installations (pictures) and if not does somebody now is there some way to make it compatible with some additional component or something?

Hello @AlexD , I am located in EU so I suppose I need Europe model. I am not sure I undestand what is a heat link so I would appreciate if you could clarify additionaly what does it mean.

I have Vaillant Turbotec Pro boiller.

To me it is important to understand:

a) can I adjust Google nest 3 to work with this boller?

b) which Nest should I buy because I saw in some videos that there are Nest 3 with varialble package content. For example in this video https://youtu.be/Huv35fbfyaA I see that this guy have some additional component which have to be connected on boiller. The 3rd Generation Nest Thermostat comes in only one configuration for the European market, and that is the one with the Heat Link. In the second video you can see a thermostat that is destined for the US market. In the first one you can see the Heat Link being wired to the boiler. If you tell me what kind of boiler you have (system / combi) and what fuel does it use, I can tell you if it is compatible with the thermostat or not, but I also sent you the compatibility checker in the previous message.

Basically you explained all I needed to know. This heat link was something I didn’t understood but now all is clear.

I already have this one in basket and I will buy it. The problem was that on Amazon I don’t have on pictures this hear link and it was not clear then. Even in description it says that only thing in the box is thermostat…

In order to avoid any uncertainties and to be 100% percent sure of the warranty status and so on, I'd recommend getting the thermostat from Google Store, but Amazon can work as well. I took a look over the link that you sent, and in the reviews section I saw some pictures with a wired Heat Link, so I presume that it will include it.

Thanks for the response. The Heat Link is a piece of the Thermostat unit that has to be wired to the boiler and it basically acts as the controller. The thermostat will send the signal to the Heat Link, and the Heat Link further to the boiler. From the pictures that you sent us, I suspect that you've done the US compatibility checker, as that one is requesting pictures of the wall thermostat.
