Connectivity issue and temperature incorrect

Multiple times in the past few weeks my Nest thermostat disconnects from WiFi. I have reset our router, restarted the Nest and checked battery levels. All are correct. The battery today was at 3.704. Each time I have used a charger directly to the Nest for about two hours. When I put the Nest back on the base it connects to WiFi no problem. 
I am also noticing the temperature is about 3-4 degrees off. The Nest says 72 degrees. An external thermometer is telling me it is around 68 degrees. I need some assistance please.

This seems to be a common and recent issue ... not entirely sure what the cause it but it's very annoying to have the set the house temperature to 25 because technology is failing us.

Hi Jake,

I kept having issues with it, tried to reset and even opened it up to see if there was anything obvious. I ended up buying a new one that is working as normal.  Thank you for getting in touch.
