E183 Error

BordHouse

My system suddenly has the E183 error (had it for 1.5 yrs with no issues). It won't stay on for more than a few seconds. I swapped the Y1 & G wires and still won't stay on for more than a few seconds and gives the E184 error. I'm definitely getting enough power (3.721 V). Seems that there is some issue with the Y1 wire coming out the wall since it is the common error when I swap the wires.

Hi BordHouse,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. The message that you're getting means that there's an overcurrent with one of your wires. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power readings of your Nest Thermostat?

You could also click on this link for some troubleshooting steps that you could try.

Thanks,

Edward
