My wiring is as follows, C, W, Y, RH, G.

Have tested the RH cable & have voltage.

I can not get the thermostat to reset to factory from the thermostat, the setting gear say "equipment failure" Account disconnected . So I can't seem to do any thing with this unit.

Hello Sterls,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue that you're having when trying to install your Nest thermostat. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

If the thermostat wires aren't configured properly in the Google Home app, it shows a message code. In this case, you must reset the thermostat to factory defaults and add the thermostat back to the Google Home app.

Please let me know if that helps or if the issue still persists.

Best regards,

Mark

Mark, thank you for the reply, As my post states my wiring is configured correctly.

My y-y, c-c, w-w, y-y, rh-r. but still got the E294 error. Tried to "reset" thermostat from the settings gear on the thermostat itself it just says "equipment error" & discounted from account". And I am unable to rest the thermostat.

Any help would be appreciated

Sterls

Hi there,

Thanks for the effort. Let's sort this out.

Going over the steps here might help:

  1. Restart the thermostat. Remove the display from the base and disconnect the batteries for a minute.
  2. Ensure that all wires are properly connected and that all buttons are held down.
  3. Check that the power to your HVAC system is turned on at the breaker.
  4. Connect the batteries and put the display back to its base.
  5. Use the touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat.
    1. Tap the touch bar to bring up the menu.
    2. Swipe up or down and go to settings.
    3. Tap the touch bar again to confirm your selection.
    4. Scroll down to "Factory Reset."
    5. Tap to select and confirm.

Please let us know if it works.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to us with the pictures and for trying the steps.

It appears that you got stuck on the page. Let's give these steps a whirl:

  1. Turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker.
  2. Remove the C wire and leave it disconnected.
  3. Remove the batteries again for at least 3-5 minutes to restart.
  4. Put the batteries back in and the display back on the base.
  5. Turn on the power at the breaker.
  6. Inspect the thermostat and try to navigate.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark

turned off HVAC, Removed the "C" wire & followed your instructions yet ..
