I recently noticed that the Early-On feature wasn’t working, and after searching through these posts, I couldn’t find anything that addressed my issues.
I’ve set my Nest to go to 68 degrees overnight, and then I want it to be 72 degrees at 5am. I’d noticed that it was still 69 degrees upon waking at 6ish, and a few times I’ve woken up early and saw that the system was not actively heating before 5am.
After reading through other posts, I’ve tried disabling the home/away assist; i already *don’t* use the learning function, so that was already off.
I have a regular gas fired forced air furnace/AC system.
One other thing I have noticed as I’ve been trying to troubleshoot, is that sometimes the app/thermostat doesn’t show on the screen the predicted time to achieve the temperature I’ve set it to. If I click it to go up a few degrees and then back down to what I’d had it set on previous, the time will then show up. Perhaps this is a symptom of the same problem?
Thanks for any help that can be provided!

Hi there,
I appreciate the steps you did so far and I'm sorry to hear about the Early-On feature not working on your Nest Thermostat. Let's sort this out.
Please try to disable and enable the Early-On feature on your Nest Thermostat or on the app, then try restarting your Nest Thermostat after that.
Let me know how that works.
Thanks,
Zoe

That may have worked. It seems as though, when reviewing the History, that yesterday the system did turn on in advance of the time I’d selected.
I’ll keep monitoring, but I think we’ve solved it. I’d though of trying to restart it, but that option being buried under the “Reset” menu, I didn’t realize it was there (I though I could only reset the thing).
thanks!!

Hello folks,
I appreciate you sharing the article, Zoe.
Thanks for the update, @AkiraMetz. I'm glad to hear the step worked. In the meantime, keep observing your thermostat's behavior, and if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to create a new post, as this thread will be locked within 24 hours.
Best,
Mark
